Train the Trainers – Spania – octombrie 2023

Within the GLOBDIVES Erasmus+ project in which Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi is a partner, 7 teaching staff from AICU participated during 3-5 October 2023 to a Train-the-Teachers workshop organised at Universidad de Vigo in Ourense, Spain and held by the teachers involved in the project. The GLOBDIVES project – ”Global Citizenship and Diversity Management Skills in Higher Education” – is financed through the Erasmus+ programme, KA Action 2, Strategic Partnerships and is jointly implemented by a consortium of 5 European universities: Kauno Kolegjia, Lithuania (coordinator), LAB University of Applied Sciencies, Finland, Hochschule fur Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (htw saar), Germany, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Romania and Universidad de Vigo, Spain.

The workshop approached topics that would help higher education teachers to develop skills in the following areas: encountering and acknowledging diversity; valuing and encouraging diversity; creating a more inclusive classroom environment; making materials more accessible to all students; introducing global citizenship and diversity topics into already taught course. Workshop participants experienced a practical and inclusive approach that served as a model to incorporate in their own sessions. Participants came from five different countries (Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Romania, Spain) and from different cultures and different fields of teaching in order to create a perfect scenario and to replicate the experience once back in the home university. Upon their return, the participants disseminated what they had learned to other peers.
